Today we are going to discuss simple ways to take screenshot on Windows 10. Taking screenshots in not tough if you are aware of the methods.
There are many ways of doing this task, using your keyboard keys, windows inbuilt snipping tool (free tool for taking snapshots) and you can even use a third-party software for taking screenshots in Windows 10.

Capturing screenshots of your PC screen can come in handy many times such as for preparing your final semester IT projects (project images on the screen), writing a how-to article for a blog or to show something that is difficult to explain in words.

There are times when you found something important on the internet and want to save it for future purpose, you can simply take a snapshot of that particular area or complete screen.

Note: These methods mentioned below works on the earlier version of windows too. (Working in Win 7, 8, 8.1)

Method #1: Keyboard Shortcut methods to take a Screenshot

Use Print Screen (PrtScn)

This method captures the whole screen of your computer.

Press PrtScn button on the keyboard, a screenshot of the active screen will be copied to the clipboard. Then open an image editing software such as Paint and paste it here. Edit the screenshot according to your need and save it.

Use Windows + PrtScn

This method takes a screenshot of your entire window and saves it automatically on your computer.

Press Windows + PrtScn button to capture the screenshot. Your snapshot will be automatically saved as an image file(usually .png) in Picture > Screenshot folder.

Use Windows + Shift + S ( Only working in Windows 10 only )

This method works only in Windows 10 for taking screenshot of a specific region.

Press Windows + Shift + S button from the keyboard to capture some region of the screen. • Go to the start menu search box, search for Snipping Tool. Click on New to take a screenshot.
  • In the snipping tools, there’s a Mode button that lets you decide what type of screenshot you want to take. You can choose from the free-form snip, rectangular snip, window snip, full-screen snip whichever suits your need. You can also edit the captured screenshot using the pen and highlighter tools.

Method #3: Use a Third Party Software for taking a screenshot- “PicPick by NGWIN”

In Windows, there are some third-party software available for taking great-looking screenshots. But I prefer to use ‘PicPick’ by NGWIN. It is simple and free to use and offers many features to edit and customize the captured screenshot.
If you are an advanced user or a Blogger who write step by step tutorial guides, then PickPick would come in handy for your screenshot purpose.
